Default Ripping movies onto Media Center

I am just about to get a Media Center and wanted to know if there is software on it to rip dvd or if i need to buy a 3rd party dvd ripper. Also if i do what format do they have to be ripped in? and finaly can i move them from pc to pc becuase i want to be able to copy them when i upgrade to vista in january

If you buy a retail version you will be able to transfer it to another computer later on. OEM version are on a different story.

well if you want to rip dvd movies to your hard drive find dvd decryptor if there is still somewhere you can find to download it.

Keep an eye on Handbrake

Currently there is no Windows version but they are working on one. Best of all it's free! I use it on the Mac and it's amazing how it rips a DVD into just about any format you want, even for the ipod

Hopefully the Windows version will be out soon, because I havent found a better program than this yet (even ones that you pay for)
