Restarting Windows

how can i restart my computer to its original format. my original windows is WINXP Home Edition but now i have WINXP PROFESSIONAL.

i tried looking under programs but its no where to be found. and i do not have the recovry disc for my computer. i know there gots to be another way.

If you want XP Home, you will have to get an XP Home disk, format, install.

i tryed to install winxp home over it but it said it cannot because the version i have now is a newer one.

Hello,

You need to start with the XP CD in the tray and hit a button when it prompts to. You can not try to reinstall Windows from within Windows.

When you format you will lose EVERYTHING. You drivers, your personal data. All of it. So backup your stuff first. Drivers so you dont have to find them later. You data so you have it after you format.

If the XP Home persists in giving you that message even when booting to the CD, you may have to download something like killdisk and wipe the drive.
