Question Restarting - Please Help!!!!!!!!

I have a AXP 2000+, 256 ram, 10gig hdd, GA 7vm400m MB.
when i play unreal tournament 2004 for a while the computer suddenly restarts. i am running win xp pro
Afterwards windows says it has recovered from a serious error
is this a hardware prob or a software prob and is there any way to fix it.
thanks
wayne

You might want to moniter the temp's that could be the motherboard restarting because it's overheating.
