resetmy cmos? now what..

I already posted this but in the wrong section so I think Il give it another shot...Ok so my beep codes were off and running so I checked evreything and someone told me to take out the battery in my mobo and put it back ing...So I found out that my RAM wasent "clicked" in . Ok so I bott it up again and no beeps so Im thinking YAY HERE I COME F.E.A.R........wrong...A black screen comes up giving me 3 choices....Safe mode, Run windows from last know settings or run xp normally.....what happens with all of them is when XP is loading it stops somwhere on the bar and completly stops....dosent move for 4 hours..Im so confused on what to do next...

300 Watt ULTRA.

radeon 9550

AMD 64 atholon 2.0 GHZ

1GB of Kingston Hyper ram

take them ram back out, reset them. The take the cmos battery out again or use the cmos jumper, clear the setting, then put it back. Now boot up.

Sounds like something on your hard drive got corrupt. See if you can run scandisk using the recovery console from the Windows XP CD ROM.
