Default Repairing egdaccess_1058.dll

Hai everyone,
what is the function of egdaccess_1058.dll file. Is this file missing affect the system's sound properties? One of my friend's system this file is getting corrupted or missing continuously. Two or three times he repaired and sometimes reinstalled the file. Again also the system prompting the file is missing. So it affecting wile he uses head set in yahoo messenger. The sound is not clear. What will be the problem? What he has to do? Anybody can tell me?

es.dll is the COM+ EventSystem library file for Windows.
