i currently have a dual boot system with win xp and freebsd. i want to remove the free bsd. can i just reformat with partion magic over the freebsd part? is it going to affect when my computer boots up and asks which os i want to load? thanks

not if you loaded them as dual boot, meaning 1 is hidden when the other is active. i'm assuming that freebsd is linux. you will need the PM rescue disc and a drive image 7 boot disc to restore the MasterBootRecord (MBR), if you do delete it. if it was another xp partition you could just delete it

it is not linux. the os is called freeBSD kind of like openBSD

you probably need to do the same thing anyway since it isn't another version of xp on the dual boot
