Remote Desktop

Call me a noob, but I just tried out Remote Desktop today. Had to configure my backup server a little.

After I tried it, I'm like, why didn't I use this earlier? It's easier than having 2 keyboards and 2 mice on my desk, plus I don't need the VGA side of my main monitor anymore.

Through looking on google, I found out how to reset it remotely, when needed.

(running 7 ultimate x64 on both systems btw)

edit - a kvm switch would prolly fit your needs as well

Very true. BUT, when using Remote Desktop, its logs the user off so they cant see anything, VNC however doesnt, but thats if someone is one the other end.

Yep, VNC for me too at least for windows machines anyway. For macs I use Apple Remote Deskop. When it doesn't freeze (which it does sometimes in Snow Leopard now) it's awesome.

I just use 7's version, it works fine. It does log you out, but programs still work.

i like this better. easier to setup. no need for the remote party to register. you setup the session and give them a pin number.
