Default Reminder System

I'm looking for a reminder system (not outlook) that is free.

I need to be able to add a reminder at a specific day and time. When that day and time comes along, it needs to pop up saying I need to do that task...

Thanks

What about the Windows Schedule task? or is that lacking some options you want? This is what I use for an alarm clock every morning I have it set to play an MP3 file every morning at 1:00p.m. so I can wake up on time for work..lol.

i use Mozilla calendar, it doesnt do exactly what you ask, eg. pop up a message but it works for me.

i use Post-It Notes. it's like a sticky note on your desktop which can be minimized and you can set an alarm for it and it'll ring when you set it displaying the note. i got it from the 3M website.

There is also a widget you can use on Konfabulator (which is now free) which acts as a "What to do" list and there is another widget that acts like a virtual post it note.
