REinstalling XP on another HD

Im going to send back my current hard drive to get another one because it is defective and is already showing signs of death. The question is, do I have to do anything besides uninstalling XP in order to the install it on the new hard drive with no problems from XP? For example deactivate the current one?

once its activated, its activated, you cant deactivate it. just reinstall when you get the new hdd

but there wont be any problems with Microsoft verification wise because its the 2nd time validating it?
