i hav a question for registry...

after i uninstall a program, i check the registry, the reg information is still there. if i just manually delete the file from the registry window, it 's ok right?

or if i find some unused program, and i just delete it from the registry , it's ALL RIGHT?
and it's Win XP

Ive done it and been alright but make sure you know what your doing and back up the REG first. Or get a Registry cleaner program.

I agree....always export or backup your registry first.
But this shouldn't be a problem.....and, as always, be careful!
I do it all the time.

so that program can delete what i dun want safely huh?
and it's a freeware huh

I wouldn't advise deleting unused programs from the registry (uninstalled programs is fine to remove) because you aren't actually removing all associated files. First remove the program from Add/Remove programs and then delete the removed program from the registry. If you remove the unused program from the registry first and then try to remove the program from Add/Remove more than likely you'll get an error message because it can't find it's path. And in agreement with the rest of the gang! Be careful and know what you are doing in the registry or your entire system will be at risk.
