registry file failure

ve got an error # c000218
registry cannot load the hive (file): Systemroot\system32\config\Software

goes on to say corrupt absent or not writable

then
running physical memory dump
dump complete

bsod on all boot options. Is the file in question replaceable? Parallel reinstall? Data much needed on girlfriend computer.

XP Home, Dell 8200 desktop, P4 2.2 G

I think you registry is too big.
Can you post the bluescreen error code?
