Didn't know if this was the right sub forum to post in but anyways.. I was wondering if reformatting your computer was bad for it? Sometimes my computer wont work or feels to cluttered so I like to reformat it to make it run at its full potential. Thanks for the information in advance.

reformatting your Hard Drive will erase any and all files from it including the OS. its not bad if thats what you want.

reformatting is not bad. As BigNate said as long as you dont mind reinstalling all of your apps and that you are fine by reformatting. What i would suggest is to get either Norton Ghost or some other imaging software. That way you can reformat. Install what you want to have on there at all times. Take a image. That way when your system gets slow or bogged down you can just put the good imnage back up. Takes away some of the hassle of having to reinstall Windows and all your apps.

Depends on the type of formatting.
Quick format just indicates rewritability over existing sectors.
Full format acutally resets sectors completely
