recycle bin error

I placed some movies and music folders in my recycle bin. I left it in there for a week or so. Then i got hit with a bunch of trojans like zestyfind and coolwebsearch. I tried to delete the files in the recycle bin, but even after i do it says 85 files in recycle bin. WHen i open the bin up, its empty, but the space is still being used up. When i ran a virus scan, it listed the files that were in the recycle bin at that point. help!

This sounds a very similar problem to mine, although I have ran a virus scan and adaware etc and it all comes up clean. Yet the bin says "do u want to remove these 3 items" and theres nothing in it!

Try this, when this happens, turn off the recycle bin, restart, make sure ur showing hidden folders and system files and delete the recycler folder from every drive, restart and re enable the recycle bin
