Recover computer without windows?

Hey I'm new to this forum so sorry if i'm posting in th wrong place.
I have googled this problems and all is does is tell me to go to the start menu ect
problem is I don't have a start menu the only way I am online is because when I turn on my computer it asks me for a product key or to buy one online.
When I tried to put my product key in it wouldn't let me type in the last digit so its obviously a virus.

I have thw Windows Vista disc but I don't know how to uninstall and reinstall without windows.
Any help please?

Just put the vista disk in your dvd drive and have it boot from it. Then follow the steps to reinstall windows.
