rar extention

Hello everybody!
I am an absolute beginner about handeling computers ,can someone please explain to me how I can do the following: I have a laptop with Vista and I have downloaded some audio.How can I use them -they have a rar extention but the only programs that I have listed are at best media player ( which cannot open the rar file) or wordpad, etc.

You can open .rar files with a program such as 7zip, WinRAR, WinZIP, and so on. You use one of those programs to unzip the .rar, and the files will be inside.
