Randomly crashing during install?

I COMPLETELY cleaned up my computer recently and need to re-install SP2 on my computer. I went to install it, it got about 75 percent done and the error box pops up saying WINDOWS SP2 INSTALLER HAS ENOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE and then I have to click send error report blah blah blah. I've tried it almost 5 times...still nothing....


Any hints?

How did you clean up your computer? Viruses, spyware, and such? If so it's possible that you could have removed certain windows files. If that is the case then when SP2 goes to install it will give you an error msg because files that it are looking for to update aren't there. My suggestion would be to do a backup of your stuff and then do a simple windows overlay. It should reinstall anything you need in order to finish the SP2 update

It used to say that, then I did a system restore and it doesnt say that now?
