Random freezing

Hey everyone, hope your enjoying your X-mas, or other holiday.

I have a problem, my brand new pc is freezing in games, when I launch BF2 a counter strike.

Specs are
AMD athelon 3200+
1 gig corsair ram
MSI K8N neo 4
MSI 6600GT
120 GIG seagate
Win xp home

So what's wrong? I just d/l latest drivers and I wil ltest it right now.

Come on guys, I really need help. When I launch CS it lets me do single player with bots but multiplayer freezes as soon as I go to the 'find servers' tab.

hey, i would run a virus and spyware scan first, then if nothing is found download a memory test program such as Memtest86 and if still nothing happens download Hijack this and post the log and if there is still no change find the CPU temp, try these and post back

It's not a virus, I just got the computer today, it's fresh of every thing. CPU temp is 34* Idle.

Maybe run windows update or something, see if your missing anything

check that your hard drive or video card are too hot to touch. Umm check your network drivers are up todate. check that your router isnt blocking anyports when you try and play online games.

if none of that works, it could be your steam files. uninsall steam and reinstall it, that would fix any steam problems ruling out the software.
