Is there any way I can play a quicktime file created on a MAC on my PC?

I made a quicktime file in my studio with a MAC, burned it to DVD, brought it home and it wouldnt play on my PC.

Make sure your 'QuickTime for Windows' prefs are set to read ALL quicktime file types. To do this, open quicktime, go to edit, and Quicktime prefs, and 'file type association' and check all of the boxes. If this doesn't help, then you might check the file type. You may need to resave and reburn your movie as a different file type.
:)

When I try to run the.mov file I get this message :

"Couldn't open the file "beeny.mov" because it is not a file that Quicktime understands."

It's weird cos under the icon it says "Quicktime Movie" so you'd think it would recognise it.

That's strange, but it's not the first time that a PC can't understand something a Mac created...

:sigh:

try reinstalling, then when the preferences come up set it to play the file exension of your movie. If this doesn't work try playing it on the Mac in your studio again to see if the file is corrupt
