Thought that I would ask a question of some of the more knowledgeable people here.
I have a computer that I put together and have Windows 7 installed. When I look at the processors under the device manager it says "AMD processor model unknown" twice, it is a dual core processor. When I tell it to update the drivers it goes through it's little test and then tells me that the best driver is already installed and that Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date and shows AMD K8 processor.
My specs are:
processor - AMD Athlon X2, 3.0 GHz True Dual-Core, Socket AM2.
Mother Board - aBit KN9 SLI
The processor was purchased especially for this mother board. A friend of mine told me that I needed the Dual-Core Optimizer software to fix this issue and I downloaded it from AMD and installed it with no change to what it showed. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
