question about user accounts

i have 2 accounts on this computer ones my mothers and one is mine, why is it that things i download & folders i place on MY desktop appear on her accounts desktop also? and how do i change this? thanks.

Are you the Administrator or is she? Does either one of you have a limited account?

The best answer i can give is that the applications are installed for all users. Some applications do not allow for you to select which user can use the app and which can not.
