Hi I am glad i found this site, any help would be appreciated.

I have just upgraded to Win 2000. I have installed a music software program called Cubase SX. When I try to open the program, a message comes up" An error has been signalled by the protective object server. Cubase has caused the error. No protection device connected. Connect the device and retry"

I have no idea what this is or means. If i try to go on it says"unknown exemption caught" and shuts down the program.

Any ideas? Thanks!

sounds like it is looking for a hardware protection device, such as a serial dongle with a registration number encoded in it.

does this program require something along those lines?
