program install in the middle and fail problem

I installed a program in windows XP professional before and didn't complete the installation. But it still leave a mark in the Add/Remove program saying it is in the system. I tried to do an uninstall there but it says it can't uninstall what is not there.

I have tired several uninstall program, but still can't remove it from my system.

Anyone have any suggestion? thanks in advance.

Open regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Once there find the folder named after the program you installed and delete it. If you can't find the folder, it could be one of the first ones with all the numbers and letters. If that is the case go thru those and see if you can find the program name inside one of those folders.
