Profile problem in XP

Hi,
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I'm running XP Pro set up with two profiles, default and mine. Starting today, when I log onto my profile no programs will launch, it just stalls forever. Task manager executes 100's of times. I ran a virus can at McAfee but nothing showed up. I was not able to run it on my D: though.
I can log onto the default profile, which is where I am now and the computer operates OK in this profile. I did a system restore but it made no difference.
I need help please, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Still don't know what caused this, but I did another restore and went back even farther and all is fine.
Guess a new computer may be on my wish list this year, ho ho ho

well i dont know ifi would jump and get a new computer from that it sounds like it was mostly a software problem. nothing with hardware work case you may have to reinstall the operating system but you can get a new computer just for something to mess with kinda like a toy for christmas like i usally do hehe
