I am having problems installing programs using the .msi install format which i believe requires windows installer to open.

I have tried the following:

Reinstalling windows installer
doing a flat copy of the media onto my hd (which works sometimes)

If anyone can suggest something else i can try, please let me know.

Oops! forgot to mention what my actual problem was!

I get the following error message about half way through installation...

Error 1335: The cabinet file XXXX.cab {most commonly data.cab} required for this installation is corrupt or cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM or a problem with this package

I can post you a screenshot if required.
The strange thing is that sometimes i do a flat copy and it works, and sometimes it doesn't which kinda rules out the CD-ROM not working. As i mentioned in the previous post, i've tried reinstalling windows installer with no luck.

Also, the cabinet file in question is there and is the actual size it should be when i ask other people with the same program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
