here goes my problem, I have an old old laptop with only a cd-rom drive, no floppy drive. I need to format the hard drive and reinstall windows 98, but I need to be able to boot into dos with cd rom support. The bios is too old and only reconizes the C and A drive as bootable drives, so I don't have an option for a CD-Rom drive otherwise I would have booted up from the cd. There are no updates for the bios either. Is there anyway for me to get around this somehow?

Thanks in advanced.

Do you have a USB port?
Use a floppy USB drive.
If not, what kind of laptop is it?

i am not sure, but i know for sure i have seen PC card floppy drives before and i am pretty sure those will work.

Sure this will work. I work on floppy-less workstations all day long ;) Each one of us own one (or two) so that we can throw ghost images on the machines via multicast. It will definatly work as long as you have the floppy drive or "removeable devices" set to boot first in the BIOS.
