problem setting up NT trust to 2k3

Im trying to setup a two way trust between a 2k3 and NT domains. Both domains run their own DNS. I followed this tutorial up to where it tells me to add my 2k3 domain to the NT trusted domain list. When i try to add the domain to the list, it errors out stating could not find domain controller for this domain.

I did some research and found this KB artical. I modified my lmhosts to add my 2k3 domain, set enable lmhost lookup, and rebooted. Ran nbtstat -R & nbtstat -c and saw my 2k3 domain listed. I tried to add the trust again but got the same error.

I can ping from the PDC to the 2k3 using its NetBios name.

what else can i try?
