hi..i am trying to copy a movie from my pc to a cd-rw , then play it on my dvd player (rca) , i was told by someone that i could , but maybe i have to put it in the correct format? i'm pretty new to this stuff, i first tried to convert the movie from mpeg to vcd (vcd flashes in red letters on my dvd player, which lead me to convert the movie to vcd) any help would be appreciated. sorry if i didn't explain enough. thank you.

Hey hayden,

I am not sure if the DVD your trying to convert is copy
protected or not but most of them are. If you own the
DVD then you can try to convert it using one of these DVD
converters.
http://www.dvd-converter.net/

http://www.pcworlddownload.com/multimedia-graphics/dvd/1Click-DVD-to-SVCD-download.htm

free one
http://www.dvd-ripper.biz/software/dvdts.exe

You may also want to check to see if your DVD player is
compatible to play VCD/SVCD disc.

You want to try to convert it to SVCD if you can.

Good Luck

actually, i already have the movie on my pc.also, i looked my model of dvd player up, it is compatible with cd-rws. did i mention that i get a blue screen when i try to play it? and in the corner of my dvd player, in red letters, it says "vcd".

sorry, i'm just learning this stuff. thanks for the help=)

Open the file with ISOBUSTER (google for it) and then extract, read this How To:

http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141726.php

If you dont see the file system of the CD using Isobuster its a dummy.

When extracted play it in FILE mode (it will not work if not).

OR

Try using Videolan (VLC) or MPC (media player classic) to play the file....................you could well have a DUFF (see above).

Your PC has about a thousand times more power than a DVD player, so if it cant play it don't expect your DVD player to.

ok i figured it out by using nero...the only thing is when i had to convert all the files, the converter i used was a demo so now when i play it on my dvd player, it shows the name of the converter BUT when i play it on my pc, it doesn't , very strange. is there a way to make a tele play whats on my pc? cos the picture on the dvd is really bad. or maybe i could find a program to enhance the video?

you could buy the full version of nero or goto dvdrhelp.com and read their tutorial on how to convert to (S)VCD
