will someone explain to me what the heck prime95 is.....i have it running and its doing a self test and is on test 16 and my cpu is like @ 56c which it never gets even hardcore gaming. what is supposed to be happening, how long will it last, whats it supposed to prove?

Well i dont kno much about it and i tried it myself not long ago and i was confused but it is soppose to read out som kind of errors if any and it last for a heck of a long time.

well, its gotten to the following point and my cpu is still running 100% and temp @ 53c:

is this ok? Nubius?

Well there seems to be no errors so its great.

well, i let it run for like 7 hours and got no errors, i just stopped it cuz I just didn't feel comfortable stressing my cpu that much for so long.

oh, and after a little research (srry I should have done this to begin with) the program is trying to find a prime number that is not yet known about. the latest one has something like over 7 milliion decimal places.
