PowerPoint Versions

I have a client who sent the website they wanted designed in PowerPoint.

I have Office 2000 installed on my pc and the PowerPoint's are looking slightly different to the printed off versions of the PowerPoint which the client also sent me...

When I say slightly different, I mean certain fonts don't work, the transparent effect they've added to some photos go all dotted, etc etc

If I purchased the lastest version of Office, would that fix this problem?

I found out that the client used PowerPoint 2004 on Mac to create the PowerPoint... Not sure if that helps.
