Default plextor dvdr-708a speed problem

For some reason while burning burning movies on a dvd-r format i cannot get it to burn fasater than 1.2x, the max speed is supposed to be 4X's does anyone know how i can make it burn at the maximun speed?

it a hardware issue. Dma is not enabled. Uninstall your dvd burner and it's ide drivers and reboot the computer. when It reboot and reinstall your driver you should be fine.

it that not it (it should be, though), it is probably a media issue

here is where you can check if it is enabled. select Propertieson your ide drive . right click your dvd drive and your ide drive in device manager and click uninstall
