I used "Recover My Files" to recover my college entrace essay that got deleted when I restored my computer. However when i open the word document the essay does not show, instead there are about 20 pages that contain the following....repeated over and over

I need to finish my essay before the deadline and do not want to do a sloppy job retypeing it, is there any way to ....decode? this document to get this back in the way it was

i take it your using microasft office. sorry mate ive never seen this before id say its ****ed n get work on retyping it just incase btu i could be wrong,,ill keep googling for ya tho

Yea that sucks. My only suggestions and albeit offensive, is at least now you know the importance of data backup.

Im sure you could try some bootable file recovery disks like Symantec Ghost, But I don't know how effective it would be since you already did a restore.
