Question Please Help Me Fix This Error!

Hello, I am unable to use programs like FLAC frontend or Monkey's Audio or Spyblaster and probably many more that I haven't tried because I keep getting this error message when trying to open them

failed to load control 'ListView' from MSCOMCTL.OCX. Your version of MSCOMCTL.OCX may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.

I tried some fixprograms but they dont work any help would be very much appreciated. I'm going crazy.

Thank you.

Edit: I seem to have fixed my problem. I installed this libraryfiles.exe file form

Mising MSCOMCTL.OCX Library File

However, I got virus and spyware warnings and moved the files to chest with avast. It's odd though because it fixed my problem but now i don't know if I put unwanted files into the registry. Was this a false alarm. Can someone check that link to make sure the site is reputable and so is the file. Should I do a complete scan now?
