I installed Ubuntu over Win7 and i cant figure out how to get rid off Ubuntu and get back my Win7. My Win7 was preloaded

When you installed did you choose the "Install along side windows" option? Does it ask you what O.S. to boot? If the answers are no, then you will not be able to use the windows installation you had as it is gone and over written.

Thomas is right, if you created a second partition on your hard drive during the ubuntu installation then you'll be able to get windows 7 back, if you just straight installed ubuntu completely over 7 then you're hosed.

Hopefully your PC came with a recovery disk or partition that you can use to reinstall windows 7. If not you're hosed.

it does have partitions but i dont know how they work. can you please clarify for me?

its a Compaq Presario CQ62-219WM Notebook PC

Press F8 repeatedly when you see the compaq logo on a restart (before windows ever loads).

If that doesn't work try F1, F11, F10 or F12.
