Please help

i have had some trouble with my computer over the past few days and i was wondering if anyone could help me

my comp specs are
p4 2.0g
512mb
windows98 os

the problem i have is when my computer starts up i gets to the windows preload screen and says

VxD error invalid VxD dynamic link call to device number 3, service B. your windows config is invalid please run the windows setup to correct this problem

so i go to install windows again it does the scandisk and starts copying the files needed for windows set up when i get this problem

Standard Mode: fault outside of ms dos extender.

Please if there is anyone who can help me i will be forever in your debt.

try new CD

limit your hardware as possible (if u have 2 rams use 1 2 HDs unplug one try changin a device @ once untile you get the faulty driver
I guess u allready did but did u try SafeMode
I agree with waynejkruse10 Go for XP 98 is a time waste..
