Open up Windows Media Player and click on the little drop-down box in the top right.. your VCD should show up there, just click on it and it'll play.

No prob.

The other option is to open the VCD in windows explorer, browse to the folder called "MPEGAV" and open up the .dat file with whatever program you want.

wmp actually takes up a lot of the CPU time, try a player like DivX Player Alpha (I think it plays more than DivX)

Hi All,,

I have seen an issue in XP that deals with WinDVD and PowerDVD 4XP,, seems that in certain hardware configs the picture freezes,, sound chitters and its annoying!!!

In looking for a true fix over uninstalling one and installing the other, I found this!!

VLC!!!

http:\\www.videolan.org

this is FREE,,and I too have the Matrix Reloaded recently *ahem* acquired and the Picture quality ,, playback and ease of use was awesome!!

It plays MPEG 1/2 , DivX, VCD, SVCD, DVD, OGG,,, you name it,,

best of all it also supports Server Side Streaming Video!!

I rate this little player 9.5 pints !!

check it out!

cheers,
