Default play a cd in vista

My sister is having a issue in that she cannot play a cd in windows vista. I have never used windows vista, so I am unsure as to what to tell her. I do not live near her so I can not get a hold of the system and I have yet to put my hands on a windows vista machine.

You will have to give us more info than that. For example what exactly is wrong? Is it an audio cd? Does windows not know what to do with it or can it not see the disc?

really windows media player should be able to play the cd fine.

I would wager to guess that it isnt a Audio CD. I would wager to guess that it is a Linux or Apple based CD. If it doesnt auto play it could jsut be that option is turned off or that you actually have to go under Computer and double click on the CD. But it it isnt even recognized then it is a CD that is not Windows based and cant be run.
