what would realy happen if i didn't have sygate running?
i dont have a server,its just a home compuer.

i was checking out Need for Speed multiplayer while it happend,is it possible that sygate was thinking i was having a DOS attack?

Hey btv,

Basically your computer is flooded with more
ICMP packets then it can handle and any internet traffic
will be none existant or very very slow.

The business servers usually have an excellent hardware
firewall setup that will reconize the attack and just discard
the packets. Additionally there Servers are usually hardened
against these types of attacks. They basically edit the registry
and change the way the computer ports respond to a flood
of traffic or unusually large packets.
