what does it mean if it says scratch disk full?

In case of shortage of RAM, it needs a scratch disk.
go to
Edit > Preferences > Plug-Ins & Scratch Disks
put in the disk partition, other than the one in which you have installed the software.

It means your HD is full. I had the same problem

means the drive is full. set your scratch disk from the default C: drive to another drive like D:
