Persistant Windows Update issue

So I am having a windows update issue. I have nearly 30 updates that fail to install every day when I shut the system down.

System specs:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
HP Z400

I don't know a lot about the system other than it is an multimedia editing system for a video production company. the issue appear to have been on-going since 8-22-11.

Furthermore, they system will not allow the installation of most anything. I've been trying to install Adobe CS Master Collection 5.5 retail and it keep failing.

update failure code from windows update is: 80070308

Any help would be great. I've read that it has to do with RAID controllers, but I re-installed the intel rapid data transfer utility as per other forums and digging instructed. Nothing has been working.

Best I can say is try this.

You receive error code 0xC80001FE when try to connect to the Windows Update Web site or to the Microsoft Update Web site to install updates

It is the only thing that comes up with that error code.

K he also said that he can't install ANY software. Would this have something to do with disk space?

One thing at a time, Luke. I think he needs to try Mak's suggestion first. This could be the reason he can't install anything else as well.
