Default pdf files not opening - help for strange problem

very very critical

I had downloaded several pdf files from a website but whenever i try to open them i get the following message...

"the files are damaged and cannot be repaired"

but other friends of mine are able to open the same after downloading from the same website...

plz help.........

I am using windows xp home edition...and adobe reader 7 and internet explorer 6

Reinstall adobe or try this:

Yes I too would try re-installing Acrobat Reader. Make sure you are running the latest which is version 7 if I recall.

I would also try and get one of your friends to send the files to you. You may be having issues with data transfer from the site, or the original files on the server may be damaged and you are getting corupted files.

Maybe your NIC is defective. That happened to me.
