Occasionally when I load a PDF file, it causes my system to go SUPER slow. My processor load goes up to like 95%. It is not every PDF and the length doesnt matter. The most recent file was only one page. Anyone know anything?

I have the most recent version of Adobe reader. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled. I have even tried older versions. Still same problem.

come on guys I could be using a P3 500mhz with 128 mb of ram and a 1 page PDF file should not slow it down......However here are the specs...

Mobo: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 2000MHz HT
Ram: CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB)
Video:eVGA Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16

Is it adobe that is spiking when you open the pdf? Or is it another process?

How many versions of Reader do you have in your "Program Files"?
