Default PC slow loading

A clients Windows XP PC has become very slow loading the Taskbar & allowing use of the programs after logging on
Looking on the Taskbar I found an Icon for "Pervasive SQL 2000 Workstation", i was able to right click & stop this engine which improved things but I was unable to remove it or find any program on the PC that was related to it ie/ I did a search & looked in Add/ Remove programs also looked at the Programs.

Has anyone any idea how I can get rid of this as it was probably downloaded inadvertently I think

Perhaps you could try to disable cirtain start up items by using msconfig.exe in the run command?
