Default PC on HDTV

Hi i recently bought the LG42PC1D HDTV and have hooked my pc to it but im having problems using the dvi to hdmi connection. At first i had connected it by VGA and it was fine but now i have this connection i only see the post bios thing and then the tv just shows "no signal"
Anyone know why this is? I was thinking it might be because in that pc is an X700 which may not recognise the HDMi properly or sumthing. I am using Vista on this pc too.

I can however have the tv and a monitor plugged in at the same time and have both screens work and then unplug the monitor completely and have just the tv on but i want to be able to just have it run with only the tv connected from when i turn it on

Any ideas?

Thanks

Just took my other pc up to my tv and connected it with the dvi - hdmi (this pc has x1900xt) and it worked straight away with no problems at all. So that means either the X700 doesnt support it or the ATi Vista drivers for the X700 havent been updated to support it yet.
