My operating system is messed up, when i start up it gives me a bunch of garbage. This is becasue of a cluster decrease in C drive. So basically i cannot start up my computer, i have no back ups, and the partition file is broken. Now i am wondering what i should do. Should i:
a.) use the recovery disk
b.) use the windows disk
c.) take it in the sony (sony computer)

Now i have a program called file scavanger so i am wondering if i use letter a, or b will i be able to recover at least some of my data or is there a program that i can do that with. You help in this matter would be most appriciated.

I would try a chkdsk /r using the XP disc first.
Boot with the XP disc and use "R" to enter the recovery console.

done that already, i have done everything posible with the expetion of those 3 options or some sort of soft ware i havn't heard of. And the worst part is that it is a note book so i can't just put it into a desktop with a working opoerating system.

I you take it to Sony they will probably use the recovery disc. You can try it yourself. I don't know if you lose all data.
