Default Partition help

Have just bought a new 400GB HDD with 16MB buffer. Installing XP and am wondering about creating a partition. Should I create a small one for the OS so that it will be easier to defrag.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

I dont think making different partitions will make it easier or faster to defrag.
