Default page files high?

hey i have checked my task manager and it says that my pagefiles are always high. i kno how to adjust them but i dont kno wut to set them to. there are two options, minimum and maximum page files. can some one please explain what the difference is and what a good pagefile size is.

As long as you don't hit the maximum I would leave it this way. The minimum and maximum means it can be variable depending on how much you need. You have 256MB of RAM, so I would set it to anywhere between 500 to 1000GB, depending on how much you need. As long as Windows does not tell you it is too small you can leave it the way it is, though.

If you play heavy games you will need more RAM or a bigger page file. I suggest you upgrade to 512MB of RAM. It will give you a significant performance boost.

You can also use a seperate hard disk for your page file to increase performance.
