Default Page file not followng diretions

Windows XP PRO
I have 3 partitions, all NTFS

Logged onto the admin account I tried to manually set the page file size to 2-500 MB but it still allocates 1.5x RAM which is 1500MB. I tried setting, rebooting, moving to different partition and rebooting. It shows in the box on top that it is set so pressing set isn't a problem. It might be permissions but I don't know how to check that. What should I do to fix this? Its messing up defrag and wasting disc space.

Thumbs up "My TEEMP files..."

Well, since you are using XP PRO, you might want to log in as the ADMINISTRATOR instead of just the standard "OWNER" account.

You could also try editing that dang thing in safe mode.
