p2p vs bit torrent

hi everyone of you
well i have come across this torrent thing . in theory they say it a revolution in file sharing and u know what. since i see that p2p stuff is slowing down a lot. there is a lot of gap between searching files and actually downloading it.

my purpose here is to actually know about the practical usability of torrent. is it really going to replace p2p or is better than p2p.

i just like to know that is it worth trying out this technology or i am better off with p2p.

ps: i mostly look for music ,mp3,etc.

I think Ares is better than Bittorrent for music. I would use Bittorrent for large files.

Iam afraid you are wrong with torrents
It seems bit torrents are p2p programs

i am enlightened . (i would be more if i had more time to read)

that was good link ic. so i guess there is a trade off in p2p( non- torrent) you can find a lot but may be lucky to download the right thing. and in p2p (torrent) its hard to find but if u get it u can be sure to download the right stuff.

any application which mixes the easy search with authentic download.
i guess i am not asking for much
