Outlook's New Email Desktop Alert not working

I have a user who's New Email Desktop Alert (the fade in/out message that gives some info about a new email) is not working.

I have verified that "Display a New Email Desktop Alert" is checked. I have even turned it off and then back on.

Actually, I don't think it plays a sound when new mail arrives, either (also checked).

Emails are coming from an Exchange 2003 server, and Outlook is set to check for new mail every 3 minutes. I'm not aware of any other users having this problem.


Software: Outlook 2003, Windows XP Pro (SP2) - all updates installed.

Any ideas? Thanks.
 
I have not.

Would you recommend removing it, then doing a clean install? Or install over the current files?

I ussually run Office updates first, if that does not work I uninstall/reinstall. Always save the Nk2 file :)
