I am looking to back up my email but am not sure what the name of file is that needs to be backed up. Could someone please let me know what it is.

Go under File>Import/Export. You will have to export them to a file to be able to use them again. The emails are not stored in the same place as your profile. Which all this is located under the Data File Management screen as well.

Yeah a PST file will be the one that you want to export too
